Lakeside real estate occupies a neighborhood that once featured horse racing, roadhouses, and farms. Now, it offers the San Francisco Zoo, great golf courses, lakes and parks. Lakeside is also close to Ocean Beach and great surfing at the end of Sloat Boulevard. San Francisco State University, the Stonestown Galleria, and Merced Library are nearby. The neighborhood has a variety of good schools and all the usual conveniences.
